I had the urge to make it. >_> This is a big pet peeve of mine.
A lot of times I will be surfing the net and come across art critique threads. In a number of these threads, the person will try to explain the quality of their art off by saying, "oh, I have (insert free, not so great art program here), so that's why it sucks," or in response to a bad critique, blame the program for the art's faults. This irks me greatly. It seems as though a lot of people expect to make amazing art simply by doing it through Photoshop, which obviously isn't true (if it were, then all PS users would be art gods). Not to mention, assuming that is an insult to people who make amazing art without the use of expensive programs. There are more than enough people (even here, on DA) who can making amazing works in GIMP, Paint Tool SAI, OpenCanvas, and even Microsoft Paint. Yes, even Paint. So please, stop blaming the quality of art on your program. It's not an excuse. =/ Feel free to use this stamp, just fav or comment please. :3 BIG SHINY EDIT: Don't believe me when I say amazing shit can be made in MS Paint? Watch this. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. At first I thought it was my program (hence, I got photoshop) but then I figured out it's just how I use the program (photoshop is a lot more easier for me to use than the paint shop pro I used for so long)

But you have to admit, Photoshop is easier to use. I mean, I don't know what I would do without "Layers" and "Lock Transparency".
Or even the "Magic Wand". xD

The beautiful part of writing is that you don't have to get it right the first time, unlike, say, a brain surgeon.
But I've also seen people who use Photoshop thinking it'll make their art better, and well... it didn't. XD; It's no fun to blame it on a program, when admitting faults will help one learn...
